National Public Lands Day: More Saltese, Please!

Saturday, September 25, National Public Lands Day, from 1-4 p.m., Inland Northwest Land Conservancy would like to invite you to visit the Saltese Uplands Conservation Area and the Saltese Flats restoration project. Choose from a variety of activities, from mountain biking, to bird watching, to family-friendly hikes. Wrap up your afternoon of adventure with a status update on our efforts to raise $500,000 for this conservation purchase and to learn about plans for the future of this important land. For the birds

Saltese Flats Birding Tour with Jack Nisbet--FULL

This activity is full. Please join us on one of our other More Saltese, Please activities. Beginning at 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 25, this will be a 3-mile round trip hike led by local author and historian Jack Nisbet.  Participants will be able to walk through Saltese Flats looking for waterfowl and shore birds while looking up at the Saltese Uplands Conservation Area. This hike should last no more than 2 hours. Participants must be healthy and Covid-19 symptom free to attend. Register here.

Better than we found it

Family-friendly Trash Clean-up

Beginning at 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 25, this family-friendly project will focus on cleaning up the trash along the trails in the conservation area.  Participants will be walking off trail and need to wear gloves.  This project will conclude at around 3:00 p.m. with festivities in the parking lot. Participants must be healthy and Covid-19 symptom free to attend. Register here.

No more prickly situations

Barbed-wire Removal

At 1 p.m., this crew will be helping to remove a barbed wire fence that once protected private property next to the Saltese Uplands Conservation Area. This project requires leather gloves and eye protection (safety glasses). Participants must be healthy and Covid-19 symptom free to attend. Register here.

Pedal the Uplands

Evergreen East-led Mountain Bike Tour of the Saltese Uplands Conservation Area

At 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 25, group leaders from Evergreen East will lead groups of riders through Saltese Uplands Conservation Area. Participants will be groupd by the speed and riding ability.  This ride should last approximately 2 hours. Participants must be healthy and Covid-19 symptom free to attend. Register here.
