June 2 – Philosophical Hiking at Waikiki Springs

June 2, 2024 10:30 am 15

Volunteer hike docent, Patti Ziegler, will lead a hike at Waikiki Springs on Sunday, June 2 starting at 10:30 am.Patti grew up in the Spokane area and fell in love with the outdoors here. A local snowbird, she became an avid steward of the land as a volunteer at the McDowell Sonoran Preserve, which she tells me is America’s largest urban preserve, just outside of Scottsdale, Arizona. Read more on Patti in this Conservancy blog post!

This is our final “Philosophical Hike” with students from Eastern Washington University, so if you haven’t had a chance to attend, now is the time! The student will lead a discussion based on the reading linked below as you walk along the trail. Not only will you learn to apply a new lens when spending time in nature, but you’ll also help this student fulfill their community engagement credit for their course!
