Join hike docent, Mark Merhab, and Private Lands Biologist, Bryan Walker on Saturday, June 22 for a Saltese Discovery Walk!
Saltese Uplands is open and sloped land, with regional vegetation and wildlife. The hike offers great views of Mica Peak, Saltese Wetlands, Liberty Lake and when at the top of Carson Hill (elev. 2661′), sweeping views of Spokane Valley and neighborhoods. Totaling 2.8 miles, this hike gains 580 feet of elevation for the first 1.75 miles and then descends for another mile, looping back to the parking area. The history of this conserved land and Chief Saltese is fascinating!
There is sun exposure during the entire 2 hour hike, so please dress accordingly, wear SPF and bring plenty of water.
