June 7th – Invasive Weed Removal at Antoine Peak

June 7, 2024 9:00 am

Native species are critical to the health of our region. To protect our native plant and wildlife species, we aim to remove as many non-native or invasive plants as possible, especially in high-traffic areas like along trails and near parking areas where seeds from non-native plants can easily spread from.

Our project on June 7th will focus on removal of non-native weeds from around the Trentwood Trailhead and along the lower sections of the trail. This will cut down on the movement of non-native species from the Antoine Peak area to other sites and prevent weeds moving from the parking area further up into the conservation area.

We’ll be partnering with Spokane County Parks on this project, and INLC will provide all the tools and gloves that you need. We’ll teach you some plant ID as well so you don’t need to know weeds to help with this project!
