INLC’s Rimrock to Riverside property lies along the northern boundary of Palisades City Park. It’s very diverse in vegetation, loved by wildlife (especially moose!), contains several wetlands and ponds, and is very geologically unique. The Conservancy strives to not only protect lands like these, but also enhance the habitats and forest health of the landscape.
One of our projects for 2021 is to partner with U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service and The Lands Council to deepen, diversify, and plant around a large wetland on the property. 1,700 plants were staged around this wetland for the annual ReForest Spokane Day, which occurred on October 23rd. 1,600 of those 1,700 trees were planted by a lively bunch of volunteers, but 100 remain on the property in pots and we need to get them planted before the ground freezes!
We need a crew of 10-15 folks to help plant the remaining trees. We’ll have shovels, gloves, and plant sleds available for your use.
