September 28th – National Public Lands Trail Building at Rimrock to Riverside

September 28, 2024 8:30 am 25

Originally part of Inland Northwest Land Conservancy’s Olmstead 2.0 initiative, a conservation blueprint of important properties to preserve for wildlife and recreation corridors in Spokane County, the Rimrock to Riverside property has now been transferred to Spokane Parks and Recreation to be incorporated into Palisades Park.  This phase I trail project will create a new loop route on the western edge of Spokane for the recreational pursuits of hikers, trail runners, mountain bikers and equestrians!

This effort between WTA, Friends of Palisades Park, Inland Northwest Land Conservancy is a National Public Lands Day project and a day to celebrate the next phase in this on-going project. For this work party we will be building a brand new trail segment that will form a loop route. Together, we’ll have fun, work hard and make a difference! No experience is necessary.

The lead organizations will provide tools and protective gear, but it’s important that you arrive prepared for trail building! This means work boots, pants, and a pack filled with snacks or a lunch and plenty of drinking water! Anyone dressed unsafely will be turned away from this project for safety reasons.

Here are the basic details of the project! Please register below to save your spot and receive more information about the work party!
