Events

The Conservancy believes in the power of connecting people to nature. Our events are designed to give participants a unique view of lands we protect and an understanding of why they matter. We also work to instill the value of natural places in our community to raise up a human support structure for the earth here in the Inland Northwest.

Waikiki Nature Preserve Hike

Please join hike docents Chris Moore and Joe Spitz for an easy four-mile hike in one of Spokane’s hidden natural gems on Saturday, July 11, starting at 9:00 am.

We will hike at an unhurried pace with stops along the way to enjoy the scenery and learn about some of the geological events, ecological factors, and human activities that have shaped and continue to reshape this special ecosystem. A short optional excursion will be offered near the end of the hike to allow those who don’t mind getting their shoes wet an opportunity to see some of the namesake cascading springs of the Waikiki Springs Nature Area.
