Come join hike docent Bernadine Bank in the adventure of hiking by moonlight and take advantage of this special opportunity outside of the normal hiking hours at Waikiki!
Do you feel the pull of nature and experience a certain awe at the full moon? Magic seems possible when the moonlight is bright enough to light our night without technology and electricity. Imagine our ancestors taking advantage of the full moon to travel or celebrate with each other in the light of the full moon. Come see and hear the Waikiki Springs trails from a night perspective on 8/9/2025 from 8-10 pm [with sunset at 8:11pm and moonrise at 8:41 pm ( peak moon at 12:58 am)]
Difficulty level: Moderate.
Even though I romanticize “no technology”, it would be prudent to bring a headlamp or flashlight in case of cloud cover. Also bring water.
There are 4 parking spaces that require a Discover Pass at the trailhead. Otherwise park along the street but please be respectful of the neighbors living there (don’t block driveways, etc.).
FYI: No toilet on this trail!!
Great variety of birds in this area. Consider downloading Merlin bird app or similar app.
