Events

The Conservancy believes in the power of connecting people to nature. Our events are designed to give participants a unique view of lands we protect and an understanding of why they matter. We also work to instill the value of natural places in our community to raise up a human support structure for the earth here in the Inland Northwest.

English Point Spring Hike

Please join volunteer hike docent JoAnne Baldwin for a guided hike at English Point, a peaceful oasis just outside Hayden Lake.

English Point offers gently meandering trails through old-growth forest, crossing small bridges and providing a calm, immersive outdoor experience. This relatively flat hike begins with a 3.4-mile loop on the Yellow Trail, which we’ll share with mountain bikers and equestrian recreators—highlighting how many outdoor enthusiasts come together to enjoy this special area.

For the second half of the hike, we’ll walk through the parking lot where we met to transition to the hiker-only side for an optional 1.6-mile loop. If you’ve had enough at that point, you’re welcome to conclude your hike, we’d love to have you stay, though!

Hope you’ll join us to chat about the biodiversity, history, and culture of North Idaho while soaking up time outside on a March morning.

Hike Details:

  • Date: Saturday March 28, 9am
  • Where to meet: E English Point Rd, Hayden, ID 83835 Map It
  • Duration: 2-hours
  • Distance: 5 miles- with roughly 300-foot elevation change
  • What to bring: Please bring layers, as it might be chilly in the forest. Some areas will have sun breaking through, but most is under forest cover.
