Events

The Conservancy believes in the power of connecting people to nature. Our events are designed to give participants a unique view of lands we protect and an understanding of why they matter. We also work to instill the value of natural places in our community to raise up a human support structure for the earth here in the Inland Northwest.

Glen Tana (Rattlesnake Ridge) & Waikiki Springs Hike

Date & Time: Sunday, February 22 | 10 a.m.
Location: Starting point at Glen Tana (directions and details will be provided)
Duration: Approximately 3.5 hours | 6+ miles

Join Hike Docent Joe Spitz for a guided walk exploring Glen Tana and Waikiki Springs, two neighboring properties along the Little Spokane River with a shared history and deep connection to the surrounding landscape. Visiting both sites together offers a unique opportunity to experience the river corridor as a continuous, interconnected place shaped by water, human use, and natural change over time.

The hike includes a rewarding climb to the top of Rattlesnake Ridge in Glen Tana, where sweeping views of the Little Spokane River Valley and Five Mile Prairie await. Along the way, we’ll pass through rugged canyon areas and hike alongside the Little Spokane River itself.

Multiple stops will be made to discuss the area’s history, native plant life, and the diversity of wildlife found along the corridor.
