Events

The Conservancy believes in the power of connecting people to nature. Our events are designed to give participants a unique view of lands we protect and an understanding of why they matter. We also work to instill the value of natural places in our community to raise up a human support structure for the earth here in the Inland Northwest.

June 11 Waikiki Springs Community Picnic

Help us revive the tradition from a century ago when Adolph Selheim invited Spokane residents to come picnic in the beautiful countryside at what is now Waikiki Springs. Bring a blanket or some lawn chairs and a picnic basket with your favorite outdoor meal. Please adhere to the seven Leave No Trace principles. No open flames are allowed. Parking is available along Fairwood Drive and Discover Passes are required at the trailhead. There are many places on both sides of the Little Spokane River to set up a picnic site for family and friends and commune with nature. The picnic will be held from 11am to 2pm.
