Events

The Conservancy believes in the power of connecting people to nature. Our events are designed to give participants a unique view of lands we protect and an understanding of why they matter. We also work to instill the value of natural places in our community to raise up a human support structure for the earth here in the Inland Northwest.

March 2nd- Winter Waikiki Wander

Join volunteer hike docent Bernadine Bank on a Winter Waikiki Wander at Waikiki Springs Nature Preserve on Sunday, March 2nd, starting at 10 am. Growing up in the flat lands of Illinois, the mountains and forests here are a dream come true. She has embraced the opportunities for hiking, biking, snow skiing, and paddle boarding. Her favorite local hikes are Waikiki Springs Granite Trail, Knothead Valley Loop, and Liberty Lake Loop. Nothing boosts Bernadine’s mood like getting outdoors and hiking — especially with friends.

This hike will be between 3-4 miles, taking approximately 2 hours to complete, depending on the group’s pace. Conditions at Waikiki can vary at this time of year so make sure to view the weather report before the hike to ensure you are dressed with the appropriate footwear and layers. Hiking poles and yak tracks can be nice to have on hand, in case!
