Events

The Conservancy believes in the power of connecting people to nature. Our events are designed to give participants a unique view of lands we protect and an understanding of why they matter. We also work to instill the value of natural places in our community to raise up a human support structure for the earth here in the Inland Northwest.

National Trails Day: Stewardship in Action

Join INLC, the Northern Rockies Trail Project along with a coalition of outdoor recreation groups, trail users, and community organizations for a day dedicated to collaborative stewardship in North Idaho.

This event is about more than trail work — It’s about bringing together trail users, outdoor enthusiasts, and community organizations to work side-by-side and demonstrate what shared stewardship can look like in action.

Whether you’re volunteering on a project, connecting with local organizations, or simply showing up to support the outdoor community, we’d love to have you there.

SCHEDULE

8:30–9:00 AM — Coffee & Community Gathering
Arrive, grab coffee and donuts, meet fellow volunteers, and connect with participating organizations at the trailhead tabling area.

9:00 AM — Opening Remarks & Project Assignments
We’ll kick off the day with introductions, event announcements, and a brief overview before breaking into stewardship projects.

Morning Stewardship Projects
Participants will join collaborative work crews led by Northern Rockies Trail Project staff. This will include a series of trail stewardship and cleanup projects designed to engage a variety of trail users and recreation interests. With multiple project options available, participants will have the opportunity to work alongside fellow outdoor enthusiasts, build new connections across recreation communities, and share in the collective responsibility of caring for places like Canfield. Our hope is that the day fosters both a sense of accomplishment and stronger relationships among the many groups who value these public lands.

A Northern Rockies Trail Project staff member will remain stationed at the trailhead throughout the day to welcome attendees, answer questions, and support the community area.
