Events

The Conservancy believes in the power of connecting people to nature. Our events are designed to give participants a unique view of lands we protect and an understanding of why they matter. We also work to instill the value of natural places in our community to raise up a human support structure for the earth here in the Inland Northwest.

Nature’s Remedy: A Live Outdoor Plant Identification Game at Waikiki! Saturday, May 16

Ready to turn the outdoors into your game board?

Join Alana Livingston and Wander Spokane at Waikiki Springs for a wildly fun, hands-on adventure where families, friends, and curious explorers learn to recognize useful plants in their natural environment — all through a 2-hour interactive game.

Participants will receive beautifully designed plant identification cards featuring photos, key identifying tips, and helpful information about how each plant has traditionally been used. Each team will also receive an ailment card — such as cough, bug bite, minor scrape, or skin irritation.

Your mission? Head out into the field and find a plant that matches the ailment. Once you believe you’ve located the correct plant, a facilitator will confirm your identification. If you’re right, you’ll receive a new ailment challenge and continue the adventure. The more you explore, the more you learn — and you may be surprised how many plants can help with the same issue!
