The Conservancy believes in the power of connecting people to nature. Our events are designed to give participants a unique view of lands we protect and an understanding of why they matter. Join Volunteer Hike Docent Joe Spitz and local naturalist & award-winning author Jack Nisbet for a special guided hike through the beautiful and historic landscape of Glen Tana!
Jack Nisbet is known for his engaging books on the natural and cultural history of the Inland Northwest. This is a rare opportunity to walk the land with someone who brings deep insight into its stories—past and present.
Explore the natural beauty and rich history of Glen Tana on a 3 hour, 2.5-mile guided hike. This hike features a variety of habitats, from the scenic Little Spokane River and rugged canyons to majestic ponderosa pine forests. A steady climb rewards hikers with stunning views of the River Valley and surrounding landscape.
Along the way, learn about Glen Tana’s deep history—from its significance to the Spokane Tribe of Indians to its time as a working dairy farm and dog kennel.
