Events

The Conservancy believes in the power of connecting people to nature. Our events are designed to give participants a unique view of lands we protect and an understanding of why they matter. We also work to instill the value of natural places in our community to raise up a human support structure for the earth here in the Inland Northwest.

September 24 – Migration Season Birding – Glen Tana Hike (Easy) with Audubon Society

Date & Time: Wednesday, September 24 | 10 a.m.
Location: Glen Tana (directions and details will be provided)
Duration: 3-3.5 hours

Explore Glen Tana on a birding hike led by hike docent Brenda Day, in partnership with the Spokane Audubon Society.

Experience fall migration at its finest on a 2.5-mile, 2-hour guided birding hike through the diverse and scenic landscapes of Glen Tana. From the serene Little Spokane River to rugged canyons and majestic ponderosa pine forests, this hike offers a rich mix of habitats perfect for spotting both resident and migratory birds.

The trail includes a steady climb that rewards hikers with sweeping views of the River Valley and surrounding terrain—an ideal setting for both birding and photography.

With birding experts from the Spokane Audubon Society joining the hike, participants will benefit from their knowledge and keen eyes in the field. Plan for 3 to 3.5 hours total to allow plenty of time for observation and discovery along the way. Whether you’re a seasoned birder or just getting started, this is a great opportunity to connect with nature and spot some feathered visitors.

What to Bring:

  • Sturdy footwear

  • Water

  • Sunscreen

  • Binoculars or birding gear

We look forward to seeing you on the trail!
