The Conservancy believes in the power of connecting people to nature. Our events are designed to give participants a unique view of lands we protect and an understanding of why they matter. We also work to instill the value of natural places in our community to raise up a human support structure for the earth here in the Inland Northwest.

Join Wander Spokane for a one-of-a-kind experience that brings together the best of Spokane’s food, wine, history, and outdoor adventure—this is part of a signature “Taste and Trek” series, designed to showcase Spokane in a way that few locals or visitors ever get to see.
On this exclusive six+ mile guided hike, you’ll explore the breathtaking, privately-owned landscape of Glen Tana—a rarely seen gem not open to the public. As you ascend to Rattlesnake Ridge, your journey will carry you through the dramatic history of the Missoula Floods, the ancestral lands of the Spokane Tribe, and the story-filled grounds of Louie Davenport’s former country retreat, Flower Field.
This is more than a hike—it’s a chance to connect with Spokane’s natural beauty and cultural heritage, all while enjoying curated, hosted refreshments at the summit with sweeping panoramic views as your backdrop.
The trail features moderately strenuous sections with uneven terrain and inclines, so participants should be in good physical health and comfortable with extended walking. That said, the pace will be slow and steady, with plenty of stops to catch our breath, take in the scenery, and hear captivating stories along the way.
*Taste and Trek is perfect for those looking to experience Spokane through flavor, story, scenery, and surprise. These events are crafted to reveal a side of Spokane that often goes unnoticed—even by locals. 50% of all proceeds will be donated to the Inland Northwest Land Conservancy, supporting the preservation and protection of the natural spaces we love.
Space is limited, and opportunities like this may not come around again. If you’re unsure whether this hike is the right fit for your fitness level, please don’t hesitate to reach out—we’re happy to help you decide.
