Events

The Conservancy believes in the power of connecting people to nature. Our events are designed to give participants a unique view of lands we protect and an understanding of why they matter. We also work to instill the value of natural places in our community to raise up a human support structure for the earth here in the Inland Northwest.

Waikiki Granite Loop Hike

Please join hike docents Chris Moore and Joe Spitz for a guided hike of the Granite Loop Trail at Waikiki Nature Preserve on Sunday, May 23rd, starting at 930 am.

Waikiki is a true gem of nature in north Spokane with a rich geological and human history. On this hike we will move at an unfrenzied pace through forests, meadows, riparian ecosystems, and to a summit offering spectacular views. We will make stops along the way and talk about the ecology, geological history, and human history (including pre-history) of this special area. And don’t forget to keep an eye out for the resident eagles along the way. Our hike will also include an optional short walk to view one of the cascading natural springs that give Waikiki Springs its name.
