Clearwater Paper Plants Trees at Glen Tana!

By Pat Loomis, Conservancy Volunteer

October 4th was a beautiful Fall day at the 1,100-acre Glen Tana Conservation area. A group of enthusiastic volunteers from the Clearwater Paper Company, Rose Richardson, Stewardship Director INLC, and Steve Eddington, Preserve Manager INLC, met to plant 200 native trees and shrubs. These plants help to create a buffer to minimize erosion and filter any runoff before entering the Little Spokane River.

According to Theo (approximately six years old) “This was the best day of my life!”

Theo was there to help his parents, Ivan and Mandy, dig and plant.  Another young person, Amber, not only loved working with dirt but also enjoyed all the grasshoppers and worms she found.

Terrence:  I have a love of nature, and I love to be out here with my co-workers.

Alisha:  We are here because it is so rewarding to bring the land back to its natural state, and preserve it forever the future.

Garren: It is wonderful to be outdoors, and I love the INLC vision and purpose.

Tracy and Nikki: We love to help! We are so proud of Clearewater’s commitment to help and work with INLC.
