The Conservancy believes in the power of connecting people to nature. Our events are designed to give participants a unique view of lands we protect and an understanding of why they matter. We also work to instill the value of natural places in our community to raise up a human support structure for the earth here in the Inland Northwest.
Join Inland Northwest Land Conservancy and our nature-loving community in gathering information about the land and species we all care about! Understanding the species that we share this earth with is critical to protecting important habitats and migration corridors, restoring habitat, and developing strong trail and forest management plans. We’ll spend time together making observations of the species of Spokane County from April 26th to 29th, and submit that data to the good folks at City Nature Challenge, who not only track and compare our observations, but observations from across the world!
This registration form is for the third day of the challenge – April 28th – and will take place at Mica Peak Conservation Area. You’ll be led by INLC staff, Rose Richardson, in taking observations using iNaturalist. iNaturalist is a free nature observation and tracking app that we’ll use to collect and compare data in our region. We’ll send out more information about how to use the app as our project dates get a little closer.
