The Conservancy believes in the power of connecting people to nature. Our events are designed to give participants a unique view of lands we protect and an understanding of why they matter. We also work to instill the value of natural places in our community to raise up a human support structure for the earth here in the Inland Northwest.
Join us on Saturday, May 16 at 9:00 AM for a beautiful morning of learning and exploration at Palisades Park with Dr. Becky Brown, Botany Professor at Eastern Washington University. Dr. Brown will introduce us to the unique botanical treasures that make Palisades such a special place.
Spring is one of the best times to visit Palisades—birds are singing, plants are leafing out, and wildflowers are putting on a spectacular show. The park’s distinctive geology, soils, and natural landscape create ideal conditions for many rare and fascinating plant species.
Dr. Brown, a local botany expert and longtime Palisades resident, will guide us through the area and share insights into the plants that make this landscape so unique and beautiful.
Date: Saturday, May 16
Time: 9:00 AM
This outing will be a relaxed, meandering walk covering approximately 2–3 miles of relatively flat terrain over about 2 hours.
Please note: There are no bathrooms at the trailhead or within the park, so plan accordingly.
Meet at the North Parking Area off Houston Road. Here’s a Google Maps link to that location.
