“Not one house on the lake” – 15 years of the Hershey easement

November 20, 2015

In December 2000, John and Vickie Hershey protected 146 acres surrouding Owens Lakes north of Spokane. The Hersheys had lived on the property many years and wanted to ensure that the wildlife habitat and scenice vistas would be protected for their lifetimes and beyond.

“Not one house on the lake, ” said VIckie at the time. And now 15 years later, that’s the way it is.

John and VIckie still own and enjoy the property, but with the peace of mind that comes from knowing their land is protected no matter who owns the land in the future.
