Protecting Lake Coeur d’Alene forest land

August 30, 2015

The over 500 acres above Lake Coeur d’Alene have been in the Maucieri family for almost 100 years. “The goal [was] to preserve the qualities of the original Idaho. It was a land of wild beasts and bull moose., nature in the raw,” reflected Jean Maucieri. Working with INLC, the Maucieris used a conservation easement to protect their land above O’Gara Bay and part of Shingle Bay, and along more than 1.5 miles of Lake Coeur d’Alene shoreline.
