The Inland Northwest is home to some of the most iconic and ecologically rich landscapes in the region—and protecting them has never mattered more.
As population growth, development, and a changing climate put pressure on our natural spaces, the landscapes that define our region are increasingly at risk. These are the forests that clean our air and water, the wetlands and grasslands that store carbon, and the wild corridors that allow everything from moose to migratory birds to move freely.
We’ve sharpened our focus on the places where conservation can make the biggest impact and have zeroed in on what matters most: five key priority areas – each with unique ecosystems and environmental challenges. These areas are crucial for preserving biodiversity, addressing climate change, water conservation, and habitat restoration.
These priority areas are:
- Mt. Spokane
- Hangman Creek
- Coeur d’Alene River
- Mica Peak
- Channeled Scablands
