For All Who Love Natural Spaces

November 15, 2024

By Dave Schaub, Executive Director

As we are buffeted by the storms of national politics, I find that I am seeking more and more refuge in the natural world. The unique song of wind through ponderosa needles, the melodic chatter of flocks of feeding chickadees, and the patter of passing rainsqualls all help restore a sense of peace and connection, soothing my frayed nerves, and helping me re-commit to the tangible, meaningful work of caring for our regional lands and waters.

I take solace in knowing that the lands I visit are protected and stewarded by people of sound temperament and organizations of enduring commitment. And I am grateful to be deeply engaged in this effort.

By building strong relationships with private landowners, agency partners, local tribes, generous donors, and engaged volunteers, Inland Northwest Land Conservancy helps provide vital respite for all who love natural spaces – now and into the future. At a time when many are searching for meaningful ways to engage, the work of regional land conservation presents a compelling way to make a lasting difference.

Over the past 30 years Inland Northwest land Conservancy has partnered with landowners and communities to permanently protect over 120 special places throughout the region. With the momentum we are building through recent projects and generous philanthropic support, in the coming decades, we will protect and steward many, many more vital lands in our area.

As someone who cares about the health of our region, the beautiful lands and waters that surround us, and the people and critters who love these spaces, YOU have a role to play in conservation. Whether you engage as a donor, a volunteer, a partner, a landowner, or an advocate, the need is great, the impacts are lasting, and the rewards will return to you again and again as your ears and hearts are filled with wind song, bird chatter, and rain patter. Thank you for joining us in this gratifying work.
