It’s Time to Reconnect with Nature

This spring, there’s no better time to get outside and experience the places we care about. We’ve got a mix of events coming up—ways to pitch in, learn something new, or just spend a little time outside. You can help out at the Palisades Park spring cleanup, join us for an Earth Day adventure, or try a philosophy hike and see the landscape from a different perspective. Whether you want to lend a hand or just be out in nature, we invite you to join us!

Paths Toward Belonging: Hike 1: Earth as Home
April 19

Join EWU Philosophy students and Hike Docents Joe Spitz and Liz Melville for the first hike in our spring Paths Toward Belonging series at Waikiki Springs Nature Preserve! Step into a reflective walk exploring Earth as our shared home and consider your place within the larger story of our planet. Participants are welcome to join this hike or any of the other hikes in the series, so don’t worry if you can’t make every outing—each hike offers a unique opportunity to reflect, connect, and explore.

Volunteer Orientation
April 21

Join us to learn about the many ways you can get involved through our volunteer programs, discover next steps, and explore opportunities available throughout the year. This training will cover current and future volunteer opportunities and what to expect as a volunteer.

Earth Day Adventure on Rattlesnake Ridge
April 22

Join Hike Docent Alana Livingston for a guided hike exploring Glen Tana! It’s Earth Day and we can’t think of a better way to celebrate then a hike and a picnic with a view! Folks should bring their own kibble and drinks to enjoy at the top. The hike is about 6+ miles, but Alana will be adding some extra trail to really enjoy the experience.

Palisades Park Spring Clean-up
Saturday, April 25

Hello Palisades! Join INLC and Friends of Palisades on Saturday, April 25, for our seasonal trail clean-up at Palisades City Park and help care for one of our community’s favorite gems! The clean-up will focus on removing trash from the trail starting at the parking area off of Greenwood Road. The Friends of Palisades and Inland Northwest Land Conservancy will provide all the materials you’ll need to help with this cleanup, like gloves and bags. Just bring your good energy!
