Kids at the Springs

Earlier this fall, sixth graders from St. George’s School pitched in to help the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife and the Conservancy restore portions of the critical riparian habitat along the Little Spokane River, in the popular Waikiki Springs Nature Preserve and Wildlife Area. You can read more about their project and see photos here, courtesy of WDFW. Partnerships like this help us care for our natural spaces and educate stewards for the future right here in the Inland Northwest.

Students harvest “willow wands” to be planted in other parts of the preserve.
