While the weather in the Inland Northwest has a mind of its own, March 19th marks the official first day of Spring! Step (or hike?) into the new season by signing up for a Conservancy event below.
Saturday, March 2nd: Slash Pile Burning at Waikiki Springs
Come warm up with us at Waikiki Springs Nature Preserve! To reduce fuel load at the preserve, we will burn piles of brush collected by volunteers over the past year. We will host this event from 9:00 am to 3:00pm. We invite you to come during any point and stay as long as you’d like. Snacks and warm beverages will be provided!
Saturday, March 16th: Palisades Park Hike
Volunteer Hike Docent, Mark Merhab, will lead an evening hike at Palisades Park starting at 10 am. Mark has hiked, mountaineered, skied, snowshoed and boated all around this region for over 40 years. Love and Respect of nature is deeply rooted in his core beliefs. He is volunteering for the Conservancy, to give back in a positive effort, to the natural wonders of our environment around Spokane!
Wednesday, March 20th: Bi-Weekly Waikiki Wednesday
Our bi-weekly Waikiki Wednesdays are back! We will be hosting these work parties every other Wednesday from 9am-2pm. Here we will perform various stewardship tasks like invasive species removal, trail maintenance, planting, and everything else in between! Information for each weeks event will be emailed to everyone who registered the Monday before. We will have snacks and coffee before the event starts from 8:40am- 9:00am.
