Looking For a Meaningful Way to Connect with Nature this August?

We invite you to explore the beauty and diversity of our local landscapes through upcoming guided hikes – each offering a unique window into the lands we work to protect. Whether you’re strolling through Glen Tana, not yet open to the public, experiencing the magic of Waikiki Nature Preserve under the moonlight, or taking in the tranquil beauty of Cougar Bay, there’s an experience for everyone. Plus, don’t miss a special evening with author Donna Erickson for a book reading that celebrates the spirit of place and community, and come visit us at this year’s Art on the Green. Join us for one or all of these enriching events!

COUGAR BAY NATURE PRESERVE
August 16

Join volunteer Conservancy Hike Docent Mark Merhab on a guided hike through Cougar Bay Nature Preserve. The trail follows along the shore of Cougar Bay and offers sights and sounds of many waterfowl and aquatic wildlife. The trail continues through Fir, Tamarack, and Pine forested slopes, up to a beautiful Viewing Platform overlooking Cougar Bay and the city of Coeur d’Alene. The 2.5-mile hike has an elevation gain of approximately 400 feet as you walk to the viewing platform. There is some heavy natural vegetation along the trail, so insect repellent and sunscreen should be considered when preparing for the hike. REGISTER
