Our guided hikes are filling quickly, and tomorrow you have a rare opportunity to experience Rattlesnake Ridge at Glen Tana. Join Conservancy Hike Docent Brenda Day tomorrow – Saturday, August 23, for a morning hike with sweeping views of Spokane Valley and Five Mile Prairie. Glen Tana is not yet open to the public. If you can’t make tomorrow’s hike, don’t worry – we have more opportunities in September, from another trek up Rattlesnake Ridge to easy guided hikes featuring history, birding, and stunning fall scenery. Registration is limited, so reserve your spot now and join us on the trail!

The hike itself is nice, but the view from Rattlesnake Ridge is beautiful, with views of Spokane Valley and Five Mile Prairie. Glen Tana is not yet open to the public, but this is your opportunity to experience this beautiful landscape. If you are not able to make it to this August 23 hike, join Brenda on September 7.

GLEN TANA EASY HIKE

Join Hike Docent Joe Spitz and explore the natural beauty and rich history of Glen Tana on a two-hour, 2.5-mile guided hike. This hike features a variety of habitats, from the scenic Little Spokane River and rugged canyons to majestic ponderosa pine forests. A steady climb rewards hikers with stunning views of the River Valley and the surrounding landscape. Along the way, learn about Glen Tana’s deep history -from its significance to the Spokane Tribe of Indians to its time as a working dairy farm and dog kennel. Glen Tana is not yet open to the public. This is your chance to experience this beautiful piece of land.

ANTOINE PEAK SUMMIT HIKE

Join Conservancy Volunteer Docent JoAnne Baldwin on a hike up Antoine Peak. Antoine Peak is a great spot to enjoy wildlife, some wildflowers, and a walk through the forest. We’ll take a breath at the top and take in the view of Spokane Valley, Mount Spokane, and the surrounding areas. This five-mile hike is moderately difficult, with 600 ft of elevation gain, and should take approximately 2.5 hours to complete.

Experience fall migration at its finest on a 2.5-mile, two-hour guided birding hike through the diverse and scenic landscapes of Glen Tana. From the serene Little Spokane River to rugged canyons and majestic ponderosa pine forests, this hike offers a rich mix of habitats perfect for spotting both resident and migratory birds. The trail includes a steady climb that rewards hikers with sweeping views of the River Valley and surrounding terrain — an ideal setting for both birding and photography.

WANDER SPOKANE GUIDED WALKING EXPERIENCE

A Wander Spokane event, explore a rarely seen side of Spokane on this exclusive 6+mile guided hike through Glen Tana, a historically rich property not open to the public. As you ascend to Rattlesnake Ridge, you’ll journey through time – from the powerful Missoula Floods to the ancestral lands of the Spokane Tribe, and even the storied past of Louie Davenport’s country retreat, Flower Field. 50% of the proceeds will go to the Conservancy.
