Conservancy Fall Stewardship Events

September 16, 2024

As temperatures slowly begin to cool, Fall is the perfect time for stewardship activities at the Conservancy, and we need your help! We have something for everyone, from trail building to native species plantings to trail clean-ups. Connect with the land and your local conservation community at one of our volunteer events below!

Saturday, September 28th – Trail Building at Rimrock to Riverside with WTA and Friends of Palisades

Celebrate National Public Lands Day 2024 with Washington Trails Association, Friends of Palisades Park, and Inland Northwest Land Conservancy! During this work party, we will build a new trail segment at Palisades Park, forming a loop route for the recreational pursuits of hikers, trail runners, mountain bikers, and equestrians. Together, we’ll have fun, work hard, and make a difference!  No experience is necessary.

Sunday, September 29th – Planting at Liberty Lake Regional Park with Spokane County Parks

Construction at Liberty Lake Regional Park continues, and we need your help! Together with Spokane County Parks, you and the Conservancy Team will plant 300 native plants along natural watercourses that flow around the parking lot into Liberty Lake, further protecting the quality of water entering the lake.

No planting experience is needed to help with this project! We’ll provide all the tools you need to get the job done, show you how to plant, and keep you well-fed during the project!

Saturday, October 5th – Trail Cleanup at Palisades Park with Friends of Palisades

Spend a morning with Friends of Palisades and Inland Northwest Land Conservancy, helping to keep Palisades Park spiffy for all! Garbage bags, snacks, and beverages are provided.

Saturday, October 12th – “ReForest Spokane Day” at Slavin Conservation Area

Reforest Spokane Day is an annual effort to restore Spokane’s natural beauty and biodiversity by planting native trees and shrubs. Volunteers will help improve wildlife habitats, combat climate change, and protect the environment for future generations.
