As the summer season slowly settles in, Inland Northwest Land Conservancy is thrilled to offer a diverse array of activities that celebrate our region’s natural beauty. Now grab your hiking boots, sunscreen and perhaps a journal…we cannot wait to explore the beautiful Inland Northwest with you!
TOMORROW Saturday, May 18th – North Idaho Green Summit
In partnership with Kootenai Environmental Alliance, we invite you to join us for an immersive half-day workshop aimed at exploring our community’s current environmental status and discovering actionable solutions. With a focus on fostering environmental stewardship and community collaboration, the summit will feature informative presentations and engaging discussions on a wide range of topics.
Philosophical Hiking at Eastern Washington University Students
Do you long to deepen your relationship with the trees, rivers, flora, and fauna? Have you ever stood in awe of an ancient cedar? Join us for our last two Philosophical Hikes in partnership with EWU! As you wander along the trail, you’ll have the opportunity to participate in a vibrant discussion based on a reading provided prior to the hike. These guided discussions will serve as the EWU students community engagement credit for their course this semester!
Wednesday, May 29th – Bi-weekly Waikiki Wednesday
Looking to get your hands dirty this summer? Every other week, we will be performing various stewardship tasks at our Waikiki Springs Nature Preserve, and we need your help! From invasive species removal, trail maintenance, planting, we have something for everyone ~ all ages are welcome 🙂
Saturday, June 8th – Wetland Wanders at Saltese
Join volunteer hike docent, Patti Ziegler, on Saturday June 8th at Saltese for a “Wetland Wander” with former board president and mastermind behind the Saltese Flats restoration, Rob Lindsay. Attending this hike will give you deeper insight into the importance of wetland ecosystems and why your Conservancy works to protect them across the Inland Northwest!
Saturday, June 15th – Palisades Park Geology Hike with Chad Pritchard
Dr. Chad Pritchard (EWU Geology professor) shows and tells the highlights of the geological events that formed Palisades Park as we know it today … at the leading edge of the “Channeled Scablands”. Come and learn how the landscape came to be what it is today!
